Menopur confusion

I start menopur tonight and I am looking at the 27g1/2 needle, the 3ml syringe, Q cap and vials.  I read my RE's instruction and I am still a bit confused probably nervous but can anyone explain to me what I need to do.  I feel so stupid!

Links to the manufacturers instructional videos are on infertilityfaq.blogspot.com under medications. I don't use those qcaps at all, mixing with a needle is easier for me. What exactly is confusing?

Good idea I'm going on right now.  I must be really nervous cause I didn't even think of that lol!

I think it was the needles I was used to lupron and HCG, my syringe doesn't have a needle on it but I can use the 27g1/2 instead of the Qcap?  I would rather that less messing around.  Did you let it sit out of the fridge to warm up and how long?

I would use the Qcap if you don't have a larger needle.  I do have a larger needle but still twist it off and use the Qcap.  I guess it's a matter of preference and depends on your dosage.  Because I was using 4 vials and the sodium, it was too many opportunities for the needle tip to bend.  I wouldn't use a half inch because I think it would be too fine and the tip would bend from all the insertion but I'm not positive about this.  When you're done, change the tip of the needle to a half inch for injection.  Does this make sense?

This! I found it much easier to mix with a Q-cap. With the needle I never felt like I got it all out of the vial. I would take the larger needle (can't remember the size) twist it off and put on the Q-cap. Mix it up, draw it back up into the syringe and then take off the Q-cap and put on the 1/2 inch needle to inject. Good luck!

To each their own, I can get every bit of liquid out with a needle. BTW I mix with a 22g 1.5 inch, you don't want to use your injecting needle to mix.
