So, DD's name would be Hatley Hillman? I don't think I like it.
Yes, I know the H name and last name is kind of lame, but she wouldnt be Hatley Hillman forever, unless she never got married. So...We will probably just stick with Brady, but I just don't love it.

How about Siobhan, Maeve, Isla, Wren, Bronwyn, Bryn/Brynn, Briony?

If only you knew how many names we have been through this time to get to Brady! LOL....We have a Finley Belle and a Ezra Bennett. So we need something that fits with those as well.

I actually like it because it's different. I also don't care if the first and last name start with the same letter - it doesn't sound bad at all to me.
Another H name that is similar is Henley. My friend just named her baby that and it took me a bit to catch on, but I think it's cute. Although, right after I typed this I realized that it would rhyme with Finley. Not sure how you feel about that.

I'm not a fan of the argument that it doesn't really matter whether girls' names match their last names, because they'll get married one day and change their names. Lots of women don't get married. Lots of women get married and choose to keep their names. Lots of women get married at older ages. I think it's unfair to make assumptions about how your daughter's life will play out at this decidedly early stage. Give her a name she can be happy with for life.
That said, NOT a fan of Brady. I don't like it much for boys-- too much of a dog's name-- but for a girl, it is WAY too masculine and will just cause a lifetime of confusion. There are so many great names for girls out there!
We most likely won't go with it. I just wanted opinions on it. But Brady is our top choice right now and she actually has some things with this name on it. I keep telling DH she could come home from the hospital with a different name. Both kids call the baby Brady and our first daughter does have a Irish boys name as well. So, I'm at a total loss of what to do...

I agree with just naming her Hattie. I usually don't love nicknames for full names, but in this case I think it is the best of all of the options.
Hadley is fine (and I think you could call a baby Hattie that was named Hadley). Hatley looks strange.
Brady is terrible. My nephew is Brady and I think it is adorable on him. But for a girl I think it is just mean. It is very masculine. I seriously am lost about why you would strap a girl with Brady. Finley I can see to a certain extent (the "ley" ending makes it more feminine)... I have a friend with a female Finley... But Brady? Really?

This. Why would you name a baby girl BRADY ? That's my DS's name and it would be hideous for a girl. Would you also consider naming her Henry, Brody, Cody, Colby, or Grady ?:::::runs out of post snickering:::::

Actually I know a girl Brody who is my age, I also know a Blayke, Carter, Hunter, Logan, Dylan and Payton, all girls! And their names fit them really well. And I think most of those are a lot more masuline than Brady. Actually I hate Brady for a boy and like it for a girl much much better. It's just kind of girly sounding to me with the A-Dee at the end.

If you & DH love the name, go for it!
DH doesn't like just Hattie. Honestly if I had my way I would have chosen Hadley or Henley a long time ago, lol!
I think Hattie is an adorable nickname--have you considered Harriet(t), Henriette, Henrietta for the full name?
I strongly dislike Brady for a girl (and don't care for it much as a boy name either), so even though Hatley isn't great, it's better IMO.
I would do this. Hatley doesnt sound right to me.

FWIW, Hadley is not made up. It has a history as a female first name.
I am not familiar with Hatley however.
