I was thinking about the Leap Pad for DS1 (5.5), but he already has the Leapster Explorer (which he still likes) and I don't know if the Leap Pad will be too young for him. Then I thought about the Nintendo DS, but I don't know if I'm doing video game overload here, when he already has the Explorer that he plays with.
Anyhow, just wondering what you're getting your 5-6 y.o. boy?
Re: What is your main gift for you 5-6 y.o. boy?
He's six and he's getting Wii (although it's really a family gift, Santa is bringing it to him). I told him that he needs to save any gift cards or money that he gets for games.
Jodi had a post yesterday - he's just not that into all that much. DD's big gift is an easel and a bunch of art supplies - which is also for both of them in the long run.
He has an old school Leapster, which he still plays sometimes. And an old iPhone that has no phone service, so he uses like an iPod touch (but has been out of power for a few weeks now - he definitely goes in waves).
Smaller gifts - he always gets a Hess truck. Some board games. Maybe some craft stuff.
I'm not sure yet. Gavin's birthday is early December and I think we're going to get him a Nintendo DS for that (hoping they will be a black Friday deal) and the Leapster he has will be passed on to Molly. Some things I've put on his lists for birthday/Christmas for family include basketball/soccer things for outside, a scooter, transformers, Hot Wheel tracks, and legos. He loves the Imaginext Batcave whenever we're at the store, but he already has several Imaginext sets, but I may add it if he keeps talking about it.
