Blood in EWCM? (Siggy Warning)

I had a positive OPK on the 31st about 7 days later I had some brown spotting which I thought may have been implantation bleeding. Then over the next few days I had a TON of EWCM but it was mixed with blood. So then I kept thinking AF was coming early or that I was annovulatory that cycle and was having some breakthrough bleeding as right now I am on CD 45. Well now the blood tinged EWCM has stopped and I got a positive OPK this morning. Obviously we will BD the next few days but I am stumped as to what the heck could have been going on. Anyone have anything similar happen?

I have gotten blood tinged EWCM before but I am confused by your post. What made you take another OPK today if you got one on the 31st? Did your temps not comfirm ovulation? Have you taken a HPT yet? If you did ovulate on or around the 31st then it would be about the time that you could test.

I took another test because I was getting EWCM after I was already supposed to O. My period is supposed to come today and it hasn't and 2 FRERs were negative. I still have EWCM but it isn't blood tinged anymore so thats what prompted the OPK just to see what would happen. I am guessing I geared up to O and didn't and am getting a second try, my question/confusion is the many days of blood tinged discharge.

Have you POAS yet?  A + OPK at this point can also mean that you're PG.

I had the same thing happen to me this month, lots of brown or pink tinged CM about 8 days after O.  I think I'm about 13dpo today (not exactly sure since my cycle seems wacky since coming off my CP) and AF is due tomorrow.  I plan to test in the morning.

Oh I get it now, sorry! I am not sure why you had so many days but my guess is that same as yours, the bolded part. I would continue to use opks and then also take another hpt in a few days to be sure. GL!

Maybe but I know blood tinged EWCM is fairly common. I think it is more odd that you received as much as you did for so many days. Hopefully it means something good!

EWCM, especially blood tinged is common before AF. But that wouldn't explain your +OPK. I would guess what PP said, your body geared up to O, but didn't. This is where charting would come in handy, you're very lucky to have just randomly used an OPK today.

As for the blood tinged part. Some people do spot around O time. The source of "ovulation spotting" is traced to the rupture of the ovarian follicle when the egg is released. The trace amount of blood that may appear due to the rupture of the follicle will not be red (like menstrual blood), but will rather exhibit a brownish or pinkish color. So it seems a little strange that you'd have the spotting before O. Which if you still had a +OPK, you probably haven't O'd yet.

So honestly. I have no clue why you'd have spotting like this right now.

I actually had this happen this month.  I got an +OPK on CD11 and then had a lot of EWCM mixed with blood about a week later on CD18-19.  I did get sick for a few days (102 degree fever) starting on CD12 and never had a temp shift after that first +OPK.  I kept using the OPKs and got positives again starting on CD20, and now have the temp shift.  So, for me the blood was the couple days before my +OPK for my real O, and then it stopped.  I thought it was pretty strange, so it makes me feel better that someone else has had something similar happen.
