Re: PCOS w/ femara vs. clomid...
I didn't do very well with either one (also pcos.) Clomid has more side effects, but most people do try that first. Honestly, I would get on Met first, for at least a month. Metformin often makes you respond better to the other meds. It doesn't mean that you will always ovulate by taking the Met, but it often helps so is worth a try. I'd get on that first.

If you were able to ovulate with just the Met, then I would suggest Femara first because there are fewer side effects.
GOOD LUCK!

After two cycles of Clomid my uterine lining was shot to helll, so I'm switching to Femara this time around. Apparently, Femara does not have the same negative effect on your lining and CM that Clomid does.
I have no experience with Femara yet, but from what I understand it might actually be better than Clomid. The reason why most docs turn to Clomid first is because Femara hasn't been approved by the FDA for IF. But my RE says it's been around for a long time and has fewer s/e than Clomid. Based solely on speculation (and my very limited research), I'd probably go for the Femara.
Whichever direction you choose, I wish you the best of luck!
