So, my cousin is planning my baby shower and has requested a guest list and dates- which I am more than happy to provide, but I have no clue on dates! I want to avoid holidays and bad weather (bc alot of college friends are in Chicago, Louisville, Michigan and Ohio) but I think I'm too late to think about those things
I would be ok with February in theory, but what if the baby comes early? Which I know is a little unlikely- but not impossible
I would love to hear suggestions from anyone and everyone- whether you've been there or what you'd plan to do in this situation. Thanks in advance!
Re: Timing a Baby Shower
Unfortunately, I've never personally had a shower, but I've planned and attended plenty. I think you are right to avoid the holidays, which means having your shower in January or February. The weather may be bad, but that's a risk you'll have to take from here on out since it could snow at anytime now anyway. Though, there are generally far more non-snowy and icy days than days with snow and ice, so if the odds are in your favor, you'll be fine.

I would have it in late January. I was due in February and had my shower this weekend in November of last year to avoid the holidays and to prevent a shower to close to my due date. It was perfect for us. We had the nursery ready before. After the shower a close friend and I unpacked everything that night and put it all away. I then had time to get items we still needed (which wasn't much).
Have fun!!!!
