Starting to look into possible places to have a VBAC (I live in a small town where it's not a possibility, so I'm looking at the nearest big city). I would like to do a birthing center if possible, but I'm not sure they will even try. Has anyone actually heard of a birthing center doing VBACs? Or should I just not waste my time and look only at the hospitals?

Re: do any birthing centers do VBACs?
Yes, they do!!! I live in a small town and am traveling 2 hours to deliver my baby when the time comes. A supportive midwife or doctor is so important I think. I'd recommend checking out birth centers and doctors that are supportive.. interviewing them.. and then making a decision.
Good luck!!
It depends on the individual BC and state regulations. Some states prohibit BCs from doing VBAC. There is one BC in North Carolina that will do them but only if you were under their care in the pregnancy when you had your c/s.
I would call the birth centers you are thinking of and ask them.
The birth centers around here do not due to state regulations. But it wouldn't hurt to call and ask.
It's kind of a bummer because even though I've had my successful VBAC, I still can't do it because of my previous c-section. I don't quite feel confident with a home birth, but I think it would be interesting to try something else next time... but I'm stuck.
