I have been crazy BH and false alarms off and on since 36 wks. So I went to the dr. yesterday and had my first check, I was 1.5 cm and 50%. Got home and cleaned the house a bit bc our doula was coming over to check on things. She said that it was OK for us to start trying out natural induction tech. Well I went to a LLL mtg that night and started having strong BH, they were making my stomach loop-sided and almost like a W. The gal next to me even commented on how crazy it looked. So when I got home I decided to try nipple stimulation with my pump. It did start making my BH more intense but still not something I'd call painful. I did end up having some bloody show though.
Well today I woke up with horrible back pain! I still decided to take the dog on a long walk anyways. During the walk the pain wasn't terrible but when I got home it was so much worse. I tried taking a bath to ease the pain but nothing is touching this back pain. My question is, could this be early back labor? There not really timable but are worse at times than others. Has anyone else experienced this? TIA!!!
Re: Back labor??? (FTM)
I know this is going to sound annoying, but you will know when you are really in labor. You won't have to come on here and ask.
This is coming from someone who had a 40 hour (back) labor.
As PPs said, you'll know.
I don't think it would start as true back labor, since back labor is caused by pressure from the baby's head. In early labor, the baby is still pretty high. That said, back pain can be a sign of labor. I just don't think back pain necessarily = back labor.
