My DD has the middle name Patricia which was my grandmother's name, if we have another girl, the middle name will be amanda after DH's late sister and if a boy the middle name will be David after my DH, father, DH's father, and my brother's middle name lol

4. What is the strangest name you have heard? IDK but anything intentionally misspelled so it looks unique drives me nuts! There's a post on the Baby Names board right now with "Jackqueline". WTH?

1. What is your favorite girl name? We have a huge list, but our favorites right now are Elena, Indrina, Noelia, Isa, Annalora, Laureilla...lots of names that end in "a." boy name? Yeesh, this one's tough. We can't find any we love, but do have four on our list that are just ok:  Alex, Marcos, Matheo, and Raiden (also kind of a WTF name, but it makes us smile).

2.  Will you decide on a name before or have a list and wait to see LO? Hopefully we can decide before the baby's born. It'll really help once we know the sex.

3. Do you plan on using any family names? Not on purpose, but DH has a huge Mexican family, so it'll be hard to avoid absolutely everyone's name.

4. What is the strangest name you have heard? Between my dad running my hometown's Boys and Girls Club in the 80s and early 90s and my mom having always taught elementary school, I've heard them all--Orangejello (or-AHN-je-lo), Lemonjello (le-MAHN-je-lo), Precious, Princess, Twinkle (the biggest dude I've ever seen in my life), Female (fuh-MAL-ay)... However, I think my favorites were a girl named Placenta and a boy who's name was pronounced "shi-thAHd" and spelled "Sh!thead."

Also, I hate Nevaeh, too. It just feels super trashy to me.

4. What is the strangest name you have heard? Oh God, I teach in a low-income urban area and could write dozens of names.  I will just go with the worst I've ever heard: Jizum.  Yes, I taught I child named Jizum.

I almost made a comment about not wanting to make huge, sweeping generalizations, but having grown up around the people that I did and continuing to work in such environments (along with the rest of my family), I think I can safely say that low-income families have a general tendency to be very, ahem, clever with their baby names.

Katherine Jane (Kate) for a girl and Jack Bernard for a boy. Both names are derived from various family members. I think we're pretty set on these two names, so we won't be waiting to meet LO to decide. I work with low-income kids so I come across a lot of interesting names. I think I don't even notice them anymore. I'm like "oh, your name is javanishashay, that's cool."

ETA: I saw a sportscaster guy on TV last weekend named Steak. First name.

1. What is your favorite girl name? boy name? I think we'll go with Aliceana (I made this up, but it has a ton of meanings to us and I think it's pretty) and Vincent.

3. Do you plan on using any family names? Oh yes, our first daughter will be named after H's grandma Alice and my grandma Priscilla, our first son will have the middle name Craig after my grandfather who raised me.

I'm not sure, there are a bunch of good ones on the baby names board though!

4. What is the strangest name you have heard?  Nevaeh, like pp said.  I was at my gym class and the girl beside me had a big tattoo of it on her shoulder.

We're in limbo waiting for good results from our next ultrasound (after a bad u/s), so thinking of names is too much for me right now (although if all works out we're going to need to name 2), but I had to add to the strange name list.  I've also heard lots as a teacher.  My favorites so far have been Meconium (baby's first bowel movement), Del-Monte (like the fruit) pronounced "DeLAYmonTAY" and JackDaniel (no space or hyphen).

Another teacher who spent some time in an inner city school system where every child literally lived in public housing.  I had plenty of traditional names, but some were out there.

One I will never forget (because I honestly couldn't believe it), was a little girl whose name was pronounced "Zakia" (you know, a nice biblical name--her mom pointed out), but spelled--and I kid you not--

3. Do you plan on using any family names? If we have a girl, Rae will be her middle name after my mom's middle name. If we have a boy, I have no idea but I'd love to find something from the family that fits.

4. What is the strangest name you have heard? I'm really not on board with the whole "city names" trend. Phoenix, Madison, Brooklyn, etc.

1. Girl- I love Clara and Suzanna (Suzy) but DH isn't crazy about either.  Boy- Our tops right now are Zachary and Evan.  We have several more on the list though; boy names are much easier for us!

2. We will wait to find out the sex, as we did with DS, and we will have a few favorites picked out for each.  With DS our top boy name was Ethan, but thank GOD we had backups because he didn't look like an Ethan to us at all!  We immediately looked at each other and agreed that was NOT his name, even though it had been our top choice.

3. If it's a girl, the middle name will likely be Sue after my grandmother.  If it's a boy, we will either use Evan after my brother or Robert after my dad. (Evan could possibly first or middle, Robert we would only use as middle.)

4. I worked in daycares before I was blessed with the opportunity to stay home, so I've seen some doozies.  Kee West, James Bond, Blaze, Rainy, Storm, Dragon, September... the list goes on.

I write novels and I have the hardest time picking character names and if I get sick of one of those, I can just "find and replace" it with another! You can't do that with a baby. Also, I changed my name to my middle name in college because I hated my first name. So I have very big issues when it comes to names. Definitely have to decide in advance or I'll never decide.

3. Do you plan on using any family names? We may have to use an S name for the middle name but we're waiting to see if my sister uses that letter first.

4. What is the strangest name you have heard? There are so many celebrity ones. Audio Science maybe? Pilot Inspektor? Moxie Crimefighter? Too many to choose from.

My favorite girl name is Adelaide, Adelaide Marie.  My husband likes Camille so we will be struggling with our decision.  We agree on Charley for a boy.  Charley Jay. 

We will most definately be trying to name LO before arrival time.  Unless it is a girl.  Then we might be pushing the time limit.

The middle names are both family names.

I think the strangest name I have heard lately would have to be Trig.  Apologies to any of you Trigs out there.  Just an awkward name to me..

My oldest daughters name starts with a K and the younger two start with a T so we have decided to use a K name this time around to even things out. For a girl we are thinking Kinsey, Kinley, or Karli Madison, and for a boy we are going with Keagan or Karsen Lawrence.
