What hurts worse - labor or delivery?

Re: What hurts worse - labor or delivery?

  • I voted delivery.  I wasn't even sure if I was in labor...I was texting friends who had had babies to see what contractions felt like and they all told me to go to the hospital.  I went to the hospital, they said I was dilated 5cm.  Within 1 hour my water broke and I had my baby....the worst part was sewing back up after...that took about an hour too, and then like several people said, the first week and a half or 2 after was uncomfortable (to say the least).

  • I went med free and kept telling myself the contractions were going to get worse... and it was manageable, I spent most of my time in a jacuzzi tub and that helped tremendously with back labor, just push through the burn during delivery and any pain will disappear :)

  • Labor was definitely the worst part. I went med free and started getting the urge to push at 9cm. Resisting that urge was the worst part of all besides throwing up a million times. When I was finally 10cm pushing was such a relief. I don't remember any pain, even when crowning, just feeling tired but determined to get my baby out. I remember thinking during transition why would anyone ever do this again, but right now I cannot tell you what a contraction feels like. That is the magic of birth - total amnesia of the pain. I didn't tear and was back to crossfitting a week and a half after delivery
