I'll start.
Today the nurse at my RE was asking about my classes. I told her I'm just starting nursing school and that I had put it off because I wanted to have a baby first. When that didn't work our I said screw it and am still TTC but also just started school full-time. She told me that as soon as I start clinicals in January that I'll end up KU. Really? So, the $3K I spent last month and will spend again this cycle was a waste? So stupid!
I can't believe a nurse and especially one that works for an RE would be so stupid. I guess it's the whole stressing/thinking/trying that is keeping me from conceiving. I just smiled and said that people told me that when I quit my stressful job almost a year ago and we see how much that helped.

Re: Stupid things people say relating to IF - Tell me your's!
lol, I liked your response about quitting your job. I guess the real problem is that people really don't understand.
Like my BIL complaining yesterday about having to get up early to take his son to school. OH NO, you have to wake up half an hour early to make sure your son gets to school on time. And he made it seem like the biggest deal.
Maybe I should tell him about my early morning montioring appts that take me 40 mins to drive to, at like 6:30 am!
And also, he knows were TTC, and have had two m/c. But sometimes people don't know how blessed they are.

I had weekend staff and this nurse was awful. I knew as soon as I saw her that she'd have trouble getting blood from me.
Sure enough she was taking a while and then looking at me and asking if I was OK. She then says "well, I'm not" gets a thin needle and tells me I should always tell the nurse / lab tech I need a thin one.
Well that's funny... it's the end of my 2nd cycle and no one has had too much trouble thus far. I think she was just embarrassed.
Then she gave me band aids and said "so you won't look like a junkie".
I wanted to say I wouldn't look like a junkie if you weren't sticking me multiple times. I hope she's not there tomorrow.

I hear that! I had a different nurse last Friday and still have a larger than a quarter-sized bruise. When getting my b/w this morning I mentioned it to the nurse that I usually get and she knew exactly who drew my blood. Really? She said she always bruises people. Hello, why does she still work there? Or can someone please train her? I'm not sure what to say the next time I get "Big Bruiser". I had to wear makeup on my bruise to a wedding last weekend because I was so embarassed.

Not 10 minutes after I told my sister about DH's sperm issues, she tells me about a mutual friend of ours and her husband (who my sister hates) and how they're having trouble too. She said, "I wouldn't be too upset if they find out he is sterile, that's God's way of preventing him from breeding." Thanks sis!

When I told my parents about my m/c, my dad honestly said "Well at least it wasn't a kidney stone, those things hurt!" As if losing the baby that I had spent years trying to make doesn't hurt? I know he didn't mean to be that hurtful, and was just trying to use humor to diffuse the situation. But honestly dad? A kidney stone worse than m/c?
A nurse at an RE clinic really should know better though.
