She seems to be making progress. She's opening her eyes and raising both of her arms. She will squeeze back when you squeeze her hand. She's not in the clear though because her brain cells can contiume to swell. The next 24-48 hours will tell whether she will survive. If she does, it may take weeks before we know what kind of brain damage she will have.
Thank you all so much for the contiuned thoughts and prayers!
Re: Friday niece update..
I can't help but feel a burst of hope at her responsiveness. I will continue to hold her in my heart. Continued T&P for her and her parents.
Any updates wrt CPS and your BIL and SIL?
The case worker was about to talk to SIL again when we were leaving last night. I'm sure I'll find out when we get there today what was discussed. I've googled and it seems like parents sometimes get charged with neglect or child endangerment. I hope BIL doesn't get charged..he is so torn up over this.

Ditto this. I didn't get to respond yesterday but I cannot stop thinking about your family. They are pretty much constantly in my thoughts and prayers.
Still sending good thoughts and healing vibes their way. I sure hope there aren't any charges made. *hugs*
