AF came last night so I go on Saturday for blood work. I'm not sure what my RE ordered, but I was told to expect several vials.
What should I be looking for? What b/w did you have prior to your IVF?
TIA!

Hi! On day 3 of my cycle they did b/w that involved FSH, LH and something else (can't remember)...basically wanted to make sure that everything is "quiet" as my nurse said. Once everything is good to go, they will instruct you on the medication you are to take and at what time.
All of the shots/medications and b/w they order, and how much you take really depend on how you respond to the drugs and varies from patient to patient.
I am currently in my 2ww (go in for my beta on Monday) and everything went pretty smoothly for me. Just make sure that you if you have any questions at all that you call your nurses on that day. They should be very responsive to you as you will be a cycling patient.
Good luck!

Yes thank you, I knew about this. My nurse called back a few minutes after she told me to go on Day 3 for FSH and said "Dr. M wants you to do all of your b/w on Day 3, so expect several vials!". I just wasn't sure what the rest entailed.
Best of luck to you at your upcoming beta!

Did you have b/w yet for HIV and other STDs? I know that was something I didn't get until we started IVF. I also remember CBC being on the b/w script - which is complete blood count. He didn't make me re-do my other tests (FSH, LH, etc) because they were less than a year from when they were first taken. This isn't your baseline - which is done right before stims - thats E2, HCG and a few other things.

I'd already had my FSH, and AMH done (if you've had them, they have to be within a year ago). I had a whole host of infectious diesease testing (they don't want to contaminate the embyrology lab), and blood type. At least where I go, it's not multiple sticks... the needle is just in your arm longer while they fill all their vials.
Other than the usual FSH, LH, all I can think of is all the screening blood work they like to do for IVF if you haven't had that done with them yet. STDs, certain genetic issues... they did all that blood work when I first started with my clinic, but I know if they hadn't it would have been drawn before I could start.
Good luck!

When I had my pre-IVF bloodwork done, the lab guy said they were all the usual pre-natal labs. It was about 5 vials I think.
I had a recent AMH, so we didn't do that but if I remember correctly the other labs were FSH, estradiol, TSH (thyroid), prolactin, hepatitis B and C, HIV, rubella and varicella titers (to make sure you are immune), and blood type. I think DH also had to have HIV and hepatitis B and C checked, since if you have any of those, the embryos have to be stored separately from the others.

Thanks so much for this list. I am especially curious to see if thyroid b/w was ordered.
