DH and I just had a bizarre conversation about the boards and my screen name, in which he said that his next screen name choice is going to be "moaner42"
I'd never thought of the sexual connotation of my sn, but am now wondering if that is how everyone else reads it.

Re: Clicky re screen name
Ha! I totally didn't before but now that you mention it...
but don't change it!

Whew. I'm relieved it's not all "yes" responses, lol!
And Chandley, I won't change it--I was just surprised by DH's thought process and curious if I was the only one not thinking that way.
Ha! Well, when I first signed onto the knot ages ago I had a different sn. But when I got pregnant with DD2 and wanted to talk about it on the boards without my irl friends on my old local board knowing it was me I created a new sn. I picked something random that I thought would be temporary, and that I might be a little more snarky with (ie, make more noise with). It turned out that I wasn't really any more or less snarky with the new name, and then we decided to move here around the same time, so I ended up introducing myself here with the new name and then was too lazy to change it back.
So, Noisemaker it is.
Aww, thanks. I must think more snark than I type. Though this board has such good people, there's not a lot of posts that call for it. I love this board.
Funny, I've thought about your sn a few times. I love it! I always thought of your sn as referring to either a party favor, like a kazoo or something, OR, because I've gathered that your DH works in music, I thought it might be some sort of musical reference. Over time, I've blended the two associations into a reference to an experimental musical kazoo, lending you a more arsty vibe. Hilarious, given now that the story behind the name is revealed.
It's funny how we gather associations with board participants we've never met that may or may not bear any resemblance to the individual. For example, I assume that you are a music scene hipster-turned suburban-living SAHM who is hispanic/chicana, and given how I perceived your sn, you have a slightly artsy edge.
I want to make it to more gtgs just to see how my idea of folks overlaps with reality.
This cracks me up, and is much more flattering than any description I would give myself. It also makes me think we should do a game on the board of describing the person who posts before us or something (assuming it's someone you don't know irl). :-)
Oh, and the party favor is what I imagined when I made my sn all one word, and what I sort of assumed other people would see when they read it.
