Karo Syrup??

Have any of you used Karo syrup for constipated baby? Baby hasn't pooped in 3 days and doctor recommended it. How do I prepare it? Do I just give it to her? add water? how much? Please Help. TIA

I was told to start with 1 oz of straight water or try juice. Karo syrup is apparently processed in a way that it's not good for baby now. It can also cause botchilism.

my pedi told me that the trick for a constipated baby is to take their temp rectally--she said it works 99% of the time!

Yep. We switched to soy formula and it totally constipated DS. I put a teaspoon of Karo syrup in every bottle. If you use a bottle, just add it in and shake it up. Hope it works! We still had to switch DS back to a sensitive stomach formula to get him un-constipated.

EVERY bottle? That is horrible,you do realize that is like giving your baby straight sugar? Does your pedi know you do that?

Um, yeah, actually my pedi is the one who told me to do it. And by the way, juice is typically super sugary too. And I tried prune juice and he refused to drink it and the tiny bit that he did drink he spit up within 5 minutes.
