Hi there. Cross posting from my local board. I just have a question for you about post HSG pain. Thanks in advance, I appreciate it.
I got my HSG done on Friday (11/4) and everything was fine and open. Since Monday (11/7, so three days later) and still into today, I have had pressure/pain on the left that feels almost exactly like ovulation pain. I know ovulation pain is supposed to be from blood being in your abdomen from when the egg bursts out so I was wondering if this could be from the dye still being in my abdomen? It seems like a long time later, but they did have to perform the test twice, so twice the amount of dye. It's not super bad pain, so I don't feel like I need to go in or anything, but it is definitely there and feels not great. At first I thought I was going to ovulate really early or something, but my chart says no and the pain has continued. It is almost constant pain/pressure, less varied than O pain is. I suppose I could have coincidentally pulled a muscle in that area?? Anyway, just curious if anyone has thoughts or experienced this. Our first RE appointment is Monday so I will definitely mention it if it is still happening.
Re: Post HSG
1. I'm pretty sure ovulation pain is generally from either the swelling of the follicle or the rupture of the egg from the ovary. Not blood in your abdomen
2. If they had to perform it twice, you could be irritated
3. If you have prolonged pain, I'd be calling your doctor.
