D.C. Area Babies

Recommend flushable wipes, please

DD is not doing a great job of wiping herself and now that she's in preschool, they are not allowed to wipe the kids, since everyone is PTed. It's gotten to some really bad rashes. I talked to DCP and they are fine w/ her using wipes but they have to be flushable.

I love the COSTCO wipes, I tried Huggies before and they ripped in my hands. I am looking for sturdy good quality but also soft and flushable. Any recs?? If they are on amazon.com, it's a plus but not necessary.

TIA!

Re: Recommend flushable wipes, please

  • I've seen those Kan-doo ones that are supposed to be kid-friendly before, but haven't tried them.  At home, we've used the Cottonelle ones for years.  They're sensitive and flushable.

  • So far, I like the Target brand wipes best.

Out of curiousity, what are you using on the rashes?  DD has one now and I can't seem to get rid of it Sad

  • scotties and cottonelle both make some.  Ive only been exposed to scotties but would recommend them.
  • I have no recommendations, but my husband learned the hard (and really gross) way that non-flushable wipes do not belong in the potty.

I put Aquaphor on before bed, but it doesn't cure, just prevents. I let her run around naked (since she's PTed) before bath time.

  • We use the Target brand and like them. DH made a good observation though and doesn't use them on DS when he has any kind of rash going on because he thinks they burn a little bit on any open area.  Otherwise, no issues.

  • We use the Target knockoff of the Kandoo wipes as well and they work great for us.  Now if she still has issues it may be she is sensitive to either the alcohol in the wipes like my niece.  My sister couldn't figure out why my niece kept getting rashes and it turned out to be the alcohol in the wipes.  I will look this weekend and see what my sister uses for her now.
  • When we were at Costco (Newington) two weeks ago, they had Kirkland flushable wipes.  They've been holding up pretty well for us.

  • We've tried Pampers, Kandoo, and Target brand with O.  They are all fine.  I will try Costco next since that was mentioned.
