Another frumpy post - what do you wear inside your home?

If I go out, I dress decently.  As soon as I get home, it's back to the sweats.  I don't feel like crawling around on the floor with DS in my skinny jeans and boots.  It's not all that comfortable.  If I go outside with him, I usually stay in my sweats.  So I'm sure my neighbors think I'm frumpy.  When you come home, do you change?

  • Jeans and a decent t-shirt/knit top when I go out in public. As soon as I get home though the jeans come off and the yoga pants come out. I *never* hang out at home in "real" pants.

  • I am ALWAYS in "comfy" clothes at home!  I am just not comfortable around the house in jeans.

  • I don't change. I wore jeans & a long sleeve gap shirt all day...and I call myself a mom hag. I think I have different standards than others--the non-hags I know are in much more than jeans & a sweater. I wear yoga pants & t-shirts if I'm painting, exercising, cleaning...I would never change out of those just to pick up my kid & take them to an activity. I am not trying to impress with my looks... That's what my sparkling personality is for ;o). Normally I'm in jeans, black pants or khakis & a normal shirt/sweater all day.
  • I wear a suit or dressy outfit and 4" heels all day at work. The minute I come home, I change into sweats and a tshirt/sweatshirt. Most of the are old and stained or have bleach spots....rough looking. I also wear these in the yard with ds. My neighbors probably think we are poor or that I just don't know any better.

  • I work in scrubs, most of the time I stay in them till after DD goes to bed. If I change I put on yoga pants and a t-shirt

  • I rarely go out in yoga pants.  Typically, like today, was jeans/sweater/casual shoes (volunteering at school).  So, if I go somewhere early in the day, I'll stay in those clothes.  If we're not leaving till an evening activity, I wear something else (yogas/T) because it is nearly inevitable that I will get something on me - food, dirt, blood, snot, something.  Most of my out-and-about clothes are comfy enough for all day.

If we go somewhere that requires getting dressed up (skirt/dress/slacks) I will change as soon as we get home.

  • If I'm home for the day, I'm a PJ pants kind of gal.
  • Jeans, capris, nice shirt or sweater.  DH works from home.  One of his guys works from our home office.  Another guy and vendors are in and out.  I would feel uncomfortable in anything else.

When I clean (on the weekends or after work hours) I wear shorts and a tee shirt.

  • My Condo is unusually hot (I don't need to turn the heat on all winter) so I am one frumpy mommy. I usually rock a t-shirt and a pair of DH's boxers.

When I was pg with Ds, we were having out kitchen, laundry room and nursery gutted to the studs. We stayed at my folks place and I spent a lot of days working on site, staining wood trim and refinishing furniture wearing skaggy old cut off jeans and an old stained dress shirt that belonged to DH. Every day I went to the deli to grab lunch and every day the deli owner would ask me how I was feeling and slip extra food into my bag. About a week after the job was done, DH and I went out for our aniversary and I stiopped by for some milk on the way home. I had on a very nice dress I designed and my wedding and engagements rings as well as makeup. The guy wasn't even sure it was me. When he figured out that it was me, he told me I looked very nice. LOL, he later admitted he thought I was some pathetic street person and was worried about me.

That was really nice of him to squeeze in some extra food and worry about you :)

  • I only wear yoga pants if I am working out so inside the house I wear my jeans and nice tops.  But my kids are older and I am not crawling on the floor with them.
  • It depends. I usually stay in my clothes all day, but my clothes are reasonably comfortable. I wear a lot of sundresses in the summer and I stay in those all day. In the winter if I'm wearing skinny jeans I'll normally change once I'm home for the day. If I'm in bootcut (tend to be more comfortable) I'll keep them on until I go to bed.

My bra? I'm always so ready to take it off and that happens as soon as I can in the day.

  • On most days, I work from home and wear jeans/shorts with a t-shirt/sweater or sweatshirt (not my yucky frumpy ones - I only sleep in those) and I just keep that on all day until I put my PJ's on which is typically after the girls to go sleep.  I don't wear shoes in the house but will be either barefoot or have my slippers on.  On the days that I go into the office so am more dressed up - I will change when I get home from work and either toss on jeans or my PJ's (which tend to be sleep pants and a t-shirt and sweathsirt - and yes, those tend to my big and old (frumpy) sweatshirts!!!

  • I wear jeans typically when out and about and business casual at work. The second I come home the jeans and bra come off and I change into sweats or yoga pants and now that it is cold, I wear a tank top (since I don't have a bra on), long sleeved shirt on and a fleece hoodie. I will wear those things outside. I don't really care what the neighbors think. I walk DD1 out to the bus in those clothes as well.
