Lately, I'm lucky to get two half-hour naps from Violet in a day. She'll only take longer naps if I'm lying next to her.
ETA: Violet is 5.5 months.
Married to my best friend 6/5/10
BFP #1 9/7/10, EDD 5/14/11, Violet born 5/27/11.
BFP #2 4/9/12, EDD 12/16/12, M/C Rory 4/24/12.
BFP #3 10/6/12, EDD 6/16/12., Matilda born 6/17/13.
5.5 months. Usually he has 2 or 3 naps. It's changed a lot over the last couple of weeks. . He used to be a good napper (1.5 hour in the morning, 2 hour in the afternoon) but now it's more like three 20 to 40 minute naps.
Of course today he changed it up again and napped from 11am to 2:30pm. and then again for 30 minutes at 5pm and is already in bed for the night at 7:30pm. I think he must be going through a growth spurt.
She's on 2 naps now. About 2-2.5 hours after waking, we can get her to go down for about 1.5 hours. Then she's up another 2-2.5 and down for about another 1-1.5.
She dropped that 3rd catnap about 3 weeks ago when I started a new daycare and started her consistently on 5:30pm solids. I think it's helped her overall night sleep to not have the catnap although some kids hold onto that nap well into the 9/10 month range. My DS did!
DS is currently all over the place. He used take 3, 30-40 minutes naps. He would wake up at exactly at 30 or 40 min. Then about two weeks ago he started taking some longer naps, anywhere between 45min to 2hours . hours but since Monday he has taken 3 1 hour naps. So who know what tomorrow will look like. DS is 5 months 3 weeks. His only constant is no matter how long he naps for he falls asleep after 2-2.5 hours after waking up from the last nap.
Well for the last week ha. this is her schedule.. kind of.. she wakes anywhere between 7 and 8 and then naps about an hour and a half to 2 hours after that for about 40 minutes. then naps around 1 or 2 o clock for about an hour and a half.. then naps from 430-5 (drive home from daycare knocks her out for this one) in bed by 7 though this week she's kind of pushed it til 730 a couple nights..
Ok. Sounds like there's still a lot of variation still. B's starting to take more regular, longer naps (three of them usually), and I was wondering if I should try pushing for two - but he still gets cranky after being up for about 2 hours. I'm happy where we are I guess. Heck of a lot better than the 4 30 minute naps we'd been doing.
Vivienne is 5.25 months. She usually takes 3 naps, the longest being 45 minutes or so. It used to be 2 hours in the a.m. with 2-3 more 20-30 minute naps throughout the day, but over the last 2 weeks that's stopped.
She is still waking 2-3 times overnight too. But we bedshare so I don't expect that to change anytime soon. I do wish she would get one long nap. It would give me more of a chance to clean house.
