Beta #2 update and other stuff

So my beta went from 85 to 185, so that is good news.  I'm not quite comfortable leaving this board yet, so I hope you all don't mind if I stick around for 1 more beta.

I also wanted to complain a little.  We recently moved, so I had to find a new OB.  I called today to setup an appt, and the nurse was sooooo mean.  She acted annoyed that I had IVF.  I still can't figure out why.  When she asked for my LMP and I told her that I had IVF, she was immediately rude.  I guess she didn't like my answer??  I'm sure everyone has run into rude staff with their doctors, but I just don't get why these ppl have to be so mean.  It's not my fault that they hate their jobs.  I hate my job, but I suck it up and put a smile on my face.  I may have to switch doctors over this.  Since I started having IF issues, I have almost zero tolerance for this kind of behavior.

Re: Beta #2 update and other stuff

  • Congrats on the beta!! So happy for you!!! That is fabulous!

That is so NOT acceptable behavior for a person in a medical office. It's probably some obnoxious young person who has NO idea what infertility is. You should have just given her a date in 2010 and she wouldn't have even caught it. :)

I agree! ZERO tolerance for rudeness and lack of kindness. Good luck with figuring out your next step with your OB.

Wishing you continued success!! Please hang out here for awhile and give us some Positive Beta energy! I am in my 2ww right now and could use your energy floating around here. :)

  • I personally don't tell that I had ivf when I make appointments or talk to nurses etc. If I am specifically asked, of course i say I did. By the time you see your actual ob, your records from your re will be forwarded. If not, bring them with. Usually, nurses, receptionists, MAs are just trying to get thru a very busy job. I just give them minimal answers. I say I want to make an appointment. She says are u pregnant,i say yes. She says when was the first day of your last period I just give a date. Or she says how far along are you, i just answer in weeks.
