I work Tues, Wed, Thurs and everyother weekend in Urgent Care (lab and x-ray). The guy that worked opposite of me (Mon, Fri and the other weekend) put in his 2 week notice. He said half of the job (lab) was too hard and if he only did half (x-ray) he would have stayed. He said he didn't have enough lab hours to make him feel proficient. I get it. Patient quality is our job. Totally understandable.

To replace him my boss is saying they are looking to hire two people. One for lab, one for x-ray. Just for his nights, not mine. I will continue to get paid half the salary they are giving out when I don't work. And I will continue to work my ass_off to provide excellent patient care, while they will have half the work load and sit on thier asses. I am pissed. I may stop loving my job, and I hate that.

I need to win the lottery so I can SAH.

She said she is open to suggestions. But she is the one that told me this information. I want a raise. 

I told her the doctors will notice how much quicker two people can get things done vs. how quick I can. She said, "They will have to realize you are one person doing the job of two people."

Okay... I should get paid for doing the job of two people, no?

I would tell my boss that she KNOWS you deserve a raise. And you may or may not get slower if you aren't getting paid enough.

Or I may need to poke someone in the eye.
