If you use a trash can for a diaper pail, do you use a plastic one or a stainless steal one? I have to purchase mine and can't decide since sometimes plastic tends to hold the smell of some things. TIA!

Stainless steel with a plastic insert.  The plastic insert does hold a bit of the smell when we use it.  Mostly we don't because of the way the wet bag fits.

Plastic.  I haven't had it retain any smell.

Plastic.  I do lysol it now and again or wipe it down with white vinegar to neutralize the odor.

I use a plastic one with no problems. I got mine at Target. Last time I tried to google it, it came up as Hefty brand but I know mine isn't Hefty but it looked the same.
