Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

Anyone else develop a fever after miscarriage?

Yesterday is when I miscarried, and I have been running a 100.4 ish fever since. My doctor is just having me take over the counter meds to try and break it. I know that it broke sometime last night, but it is back again this morning. I have also developed a sore throat, but that could be due to all the crying I have done.  They want me to call in today with an update on how I am doing to determine if I need to come back in today.

  • That was one of the factors the ER doc told me to look for, and all my doc or come back in IMMEDIATELY if I had a fever over 100.  I'm glad you're talking to your doc!

On a side note, I see you're in Anchorage, too.  Mind if I ask which doctor you see?  I'm seeing Dr. Mark Richey for the first time tomorrow.

  • Fever could be a sign of infection.  When you talk to your doc today, don't be surprised if they want you to go in.  Sorry for you loss and hope your fever takes a permanent hike ASAP.

I actually don't live in AK any more, but the bump will not change my location. I have heard good things about dr. Richey, and I can vouch for all the providers at alaska women's health since I used to work there.
