Re: ~*Weekly PG Check-in*~
Congrats Duckie!
Updates: Not much new to update. Baby is moving around like crazy which makes me happy. I'm worrying myself for no reason about my weight and the possibility of GD. (I've never had an issue with either before but I've been pretty panicky about both lately.) I'm tracking my food now so that if I have another not so great visit or if I have poor news on the GD front I can be prepared.
QOTW: I had one at 25 weeks which I think is pretty early but my family wanted to get it out of the way before the holidays. I'll have another one at 30 weeks and one for work at about 33 weeks. I'm happy to get to have them early so I still have plenty of time to get what we need.
Congrats Duckie!
Updates - I finally have our a/s scheduled - so hopefully baby will cooperate and we'll find out if we're having a boy or girl 1st week of December! And, at my appt this past week, the dr told me baby is already up in position, and its nothing but out from here. . . yay for being short.
QOTW: My friends have been asking about shower dates but nothing is scheduled yet. I'm thinking probably Feb timeframe, after the holiday craziness ends.
Please add me to the weekly checkin! EDD 6/21/12 Congrats Duckie!!!
Update: I failed my 1 hour glucose so have to do the 3 hour tomorrow. Not looking forward to it. I don't like missing this much work. I missed all afternoon yesterday because of the OB visit and now will miss all morning tomorrow. So far, my side effects have been slim to none besides the anxiety. When I mentioned it yesterday, the NP didn't really have much to say besides "thats normal...everything looks great." I don't have a scheduled followup until Dec 9, which I'm not too excited about waiting so long, but I guess if they are comfortable with pushing me out that far than everything must be looking ok. Lab values besides the 1 hour glucose looked great.
QOTW: haven't looked/thought that far ahead...
10/24/2011 - Surprise BFP; EDD 6/21/12! BOY!
Sweet baby boy born 6/14 9lb 2oz via csection.
QOTW: I won't be having one this time around - we were super blessed last time and I really don't "need" anything.
Updates: I really need to get cracking at finishing off the nursery. DS has been in-between two rooms for a few months and I really need to finish moving all of his stuff out of the nursery to give me space for DD. I have my GD test in a couple weeks, as well as a follow-up u/s -- my OB wasn't happy with the images we got of DD's heart at her a/s so we'll be getting a better look at the 28w appt. I'm praying that all is well.
Congrats on your baby girl, duckie!
Congrats, Duckie!
QOTW: No shower for us this time. We've had a few friends ask about throwing one, but we really don't need any more stuff, plus with our due date just days before Christmas, this is just a busy time to be scheduling a shower. I've gotten a lot of the "but it's not about what you need, it's about celebrating this baby!" blah blah blah. IMO, a shower IS about what you need/being showered with gifts and I just don't want gifts! So I've been toying with the idea of a Sip n See or something similar after he's here. But then again, being the winter season, makes it not such a great idea for a newborn to be exposed to so many people. So who knows.
Update: Just about 34 wks. Had an appt this morning and everything is still looking great. My next appt is the day before Thanksgiving, which will essentially be my 36wk appt (a day before I turn 36 wks) but doc said he'll do an internal and if I'm progressed more than a couple centimeters, it may not be a great idea for me to go Thanksgiving at the IL's farm (darn!
), but it would be up to me. I just can't believe it's getting so close! Oh, and I've all but convinced myself that he will come a couple weeks early, because there is a full moon on Dec. 10 and after talking with the nurse on our hospital tour the other day, I just have it in my head that I'll go into labor around the full moon...
When 3 Became 4
QOTW: Last time I had one at 29 weeks when we visited family in Indy and then one at 34 weeks here in Austin. This time I'm having one at 31 weeks. I've always been in the "every baby deserves to be celebrated" and "who doesn't love a party??" camp, but I gotta admit I feel a bit odd having a shower for our 2nd boy who will be born pretty much around the same time that Luke was. But I'm excited to be around friends and family and celebrate our new lil' man.
Updates: Our appointment with the peri went great and Butterbean was given a clean bill of health. I couldn't be happier! This week I actually started feeling a bit uncomfortable. My abs ached yesterday like you wouldn't believe. And I've been feeling more pressure low down and around my tailbone than before. I'm trying to take it easy, or as easy as I can while chasing a 30+lb. toddler. Next week I've got my GD test and I hope and pray that I pass. How sucky would it be to miss out on Thanksgiving pumpkin pie?!?
Hmm...I thought I was already on this list. Can you add me? Tiffany5412 - 6/28/11
I've posted a lot about my roller coaster. I'm measuring too small and my numbers didn't go up as they should. They're redoing my HCG tomorrow and Monday and repeating the U/S on Tuesday.
QOTW - I haven't a clue. Too early for me.
Congrats, Duckie!
QOTW: Well, we moved when I was around 7.5 months and traveled before that, so I think my showers with DD were around 6 months. I don't know if I'll need a shower with this one.
Updates: Going well. I've been having the worst night sweats (gross) but I haven't had any bad nausea yet (it was full-blown by this point last time), so I guess if I have to trade off, I'll take sweating over feeling barfy anytime.
I have my first u/s in two weeks. We're excited for that.
Same here! Will you add me? ashleybritton - 6/22/12
I just got back from my 8 week appt. with Dr. S. We had a bleeding scare earlier on in the pregnancy so this was actually our 3rd ultrasound, but it was amazing to see how much the baby grew. This time it was actually moving around which was pretty amazing!
QOTW - I haven't even thought about this. It's way too early. I'm sure I'll have a work shower and either my sister, or my sister-in-laws will throw me one, but for now I just want to get out of the first trimester!

My Blog
Congrats Duckie!
Update: I am feeling really good! We had an appt last week and got our 3rd us, starting to really look like a baby! We decided to opt out of the NT scan, so no more u/s until 20 weeks. We have pretty much told all our family and friends. I'm going to let my work know by this weekend.
QOTW: Haven't really thought about it. One of my showers will be in the Lubbock area, so that one will have to be early enough I am still comfortable traveling that far. Other than that, I really don't know.
QOTW: I don't remember when I had my showers last time--my co-workers threw me one and my sis & friend threw me one. A co-worker asked to throw me one this time. I told her I didn't need one, but she insisted. So, I am going to have one...but the gifts will be the letters for the nursery I am having people make for Tiny. I just have to decide whom I would like to make letters for me (We are doing an alphabet theme for the nursery and I have bought 26 canvases for the walls. I plan on giving out 25 and letting people create. I am excited about it.) So, the sprinkle would be a great time to get them back from people. I plan on handing them out just before break.
UPDATE: I've really started to show in the last week. Everyday a new student realizes I am pregnant and asks about it. A couple of my kiddos are upset that I will be leaving them for 6 weeks. My boobs are killing me--they are huge and heavy and I hate it. Tiny moves up a storm, which I like. I need to finally go and buy some maternity pants. Not looking forward to that. I might need to change my wardrobe to leggings and tunics/sweater dresses since I am not too optimistic about finding long pants for a reasonable price.
Here is my latest bump pic. (and I am bigger this time than I was at this point last time.)
Update: We found out it's a GIRL, so I was right, wooohooo! We went to an elective U/S place here in Round Rock and got the scan for $40, and it was amazing. My MIL and mom were able to come and it was a really fantastic experience.Went out and bought a bunch of girly clothes right away afterwards (but kept the receipts, lol, I've heard too many stories of "girls" actually being boys, so it will be nice to get the confirmation at our A/S in a few weeks).
QOTW: DS's baby shower was a big pool party around 36 weeks. This one I am not sure if I'll have a sip'n'see or something once she is here or what. It is opposite gender, and I know my family at least will love to buy some cute girly things to give us, so that would be fun.
Congrats Duckie! So happy for you.
Update: We found out at our last appointment that baby is cooperating and is head down. I'm feeling more movement and am thrilled to be 32 weeks. That means she'll be here soon!
QOTW: I just had my shower last weekend at 31 weeks. We had an amazing brunch (that lasted until 6:00 PM). I was so overwhelmed with all the effort my friends put in to throwing the shower. We got more gifts than I ever could have dreamed of.
My work is throwing me a shower on the 30th. I should be about 34/35 weeks at that point. I feel it's totally unnecessary, but I work with all women about my mom's age and they are all so sweet and excited.
Does anyone else get nervous with all the attention focused on them at these things?
