Tylenol PM

So I took a Tylenol PM because I had a headache and couldn't sleep on Monday night. All day yesterday I felt amazing...didn't feel like throwing up once. I didn't take anything and again I feel like crap today. I looked it up online and it seems the PM portion of Tylenol is the same as Unisom and Benedryl so I'm thinking maybe this is the reason I felt so good yesterday??? I can't do unisom because it just wakes me up. I'm definitely going to ask my dr when I go in tomorrow!

Anyone else had this happen?

Re: Tylenol PM

  • During my last pregnancy, towards the middle of my pregnancy I started getting pretty intense headaches that where not pre-e related but more stress related as I had an extremely stressful job. I am prone to tension headaches. I had a rough time getting enough sleep at night and also attributed that to the headaches. My doctor then told me I could take it nightly if I needed to it would not form an addiction and that it was safe. I took it nearly till the end.

This pregnancy I have taken it a few times as well as I have some pretty intense migraine headaches from the hormones.

  • I haven't tried Tylenol PM yet, but my doctor said it is totally safe, and the PM part is pretty much the same as benedryl.

  • My doctor told me when I was going to fly that I could take a benedryl or unisom for the flight to help me sleep and that any antihistamine (which they both are) would help keep away any queasiness as well.  So i'm guessing that's why you felt so good.  If you don't need the tylenol part, try a benedryl maybe some night and see if you feel better the next day?
