I have tried a few recipes this weekend and all were a big huge fat fail! I tried a creamy mushroom sauce.. no one even tried it from the horrible smell.
I am determined to try 1 to 2 recipes a week so hopefully eventually there will be some success in my cooking..
i did bake a cake yesterday which was amazing! i'll share below.
Re: **Allergy Friendly Recipe Exchange**
I recently came across this recipe from Chocolate Covered Katie. She calls it a One-Minute Chocolate Cake. I call it pure heaven.
I was home alone last night and really craved something chocolatey.. so i gave this quick recipe a try and i devoured it! it was soooo good.. i cannot wait to make it for Aiden.
it's milk/soy/egg/nut free and there is also a GF version on her site.
I'm slowly falling in love with katie!
I did an entry last night (while eating it) on my blog HERE.. don't mind the crappy photo. I could have used a smaller dish to put it in so its thicker.
Anyways, I think this is also great if you need a quick desert for your FA child on a 5 minute notice.
Sounds YUMMY! I will have to try these as cupcakes and freeze them for treats for DS. I am coming up clueless this week. DS has been sick and all he wants to eat is puffs and crackers. I AM IN DESPERATE NEED OF A NOODLE AND CHEESE RECIPE that is allergy safe. I tried two times with daiya and soy milk and both were nasty failures. I couldn't even bring myself to eat it, much less serve it to my son. Is there a box brand like Amy's that I can be on the look out for? TIA
sorry you're LO is sick.. hope he feels better soon.
I just saved this recipe which i plan on trying sometime soon.. simple mac & cheese - https://thefoodallergychronicles.wordpress.com/2011/11/04/dairy-free-macaroni-and-daiya-cheddar-style-shreds/
I use this now and they aren't bad but i think something home made might be yummier. https://www.edwardandsons.com/reo_shop_pastas.itml the shell pasta is my DS favorite.
I put a pork loin in the crockpot and put some liquid smoke on it. Yummy!
That's all I got!
what's liquid smoke? sorry -completely clueless when it comes to meat
It's a "sauce" you put on meats, fish, etc. to give them that "cooked in a smoker" taste. It is next to the BBQ sauces at the grocery store. The ingredients are as follows:
Water, Natural Smoke Flavor, Vinegar, Molasses, Caramel Color and Salt
thanks! going to give it a try sometime soon. do you drown it in the sauce or just coat the meat?
thanks! i'm going to try it

Sub unsweetened almond milk or coconut milk for regular milk
Sub daiya shredded cheese for regular shredded cheese
Skip cooking spray unless you have some dairy free/soy free
Make sure to check ingrediant label for french bread. I found some DF/SF at the Kroger bakery.
