Trouble TTC

Anyone have advice?

I just wanted to post to see if anyone has ever had this happen... I have been charting (no temping) for around 5 months.  While I have been charting my cycles have always been 21 days. So FF estimated my cylce to start on October 26th, but AF has yet to show up.  I have since taken 5 HPT, but all have been negative. I have heard of some people not testing positive until they are farther along in their pregnancy.  My GYN office said for me to test on CD 35 and call them at that time.  The office also said that the Dr would give me something to start my cycle, I assume after we do a beta HCG and get a negative result.  So...Have you heard of anyone testing negative on HPT and also on Beta HCG, but still being pregnant?  Just don't want to take any medication to make my cycle start if I actually could be pregnant (even if there is just a slim chance).  Thanks for any advice..my mind tends to race.

Re: Anyone have advice?

  • Since you are asking my advice would be that you should invest in a BBT and start taking your temp consistently each morning.

Temping will give you a way better indicator of whether or not you are even ovulating and provide some consistency with comparison. You're not really doing yourself any favors by "charting" without seeing any kind of thermal shift.

If you have a 21 day cycle that doesn't sound like it's long enough to get pregnant, as having a LP of 10+ days is needed for implantation. You probably have no idea how long your LP is, because you're not temping.

You can't get a negative beta blood test and be pregnant. HcG starts to enter the blood stream a few days after implantation. If there's no HcG or not enough, you can't sustain a pregnancy.

It is possible POAS wouldn't show HcG in your blood stream if there's not enough and you could still be pregnant if some shows up on a blood test.

    All of this.

Most likely you either ovulated late or have not ovulated at all yet.

First step would be to get that bbt so that you will have some answers.

  • My sister did not produce a positive hpt until month 4 or something but her blood test was positive from the beggining. So from what my dr and pp has said a negative blood test is negative.
