I know not to take them while pregnant, and I don't necessarily avoid things like ttc that you shouldn't do while pregnant.
But, I have read you shouldn't take them while TTC, what is the reasoning behind this? Because of it being bad for possible baby?
I have to take them do to nerve damage in my back from having DD, which luckily isn't going to make us put of ttc like my pessimistic self assumed.
Re: NSAIDS and TTC
I think some sources believe they can interfere with implantation but I could be dreaming I've heard that.
You could always take them pre-O and then avoid during the 2WW.
OP - If you can avoid them, that would probably be the best plan of action...however, sometimes the benefit of taking medications outweighs the risks. Definitely something that I would recommend speaking about with your doctor; he/she would be in the best position to inform you about the potential risks of taking NSAIDs while TTC (and beyond). HTH.
Oh this sucks! I hadn't read/heard that. Oh well, if that impedes implantation for us, there's nothing I can do about it. I have a severe neck injury and Advil/muscle relaxers are the only thing keeping my pain at bay right now.

I mentioned several times throughout the appt that I am ttc. I find with drs. it is not best to assume that they would put two and two together, lol.
I may have to break down and tell my pharmacist friend I am ttc and get his opinion. I hate taking NSAIDS in general due to them hurting my stomach. But my dr. wants me to take them for a few weeks before starting some excersizes, to hopefully prove most of the pain is from picking up DD, and not permanant bruising.
Just because it may interfere doesn't mean it will interfere. Plenty of women get pregnant while actively taking Advil all the time (and many more dangerous drugs). Get to feeling better!
Oh, I know. It's just something I don't need weighing on me right now. But I have to let it go and not obsess over it. Thanks so much. I hope this pain goes away soon! I'm pretty miserable.
ETA: And sorry for hijacking your thread, holly. I didn't mean to interject my "ohnoes, I is hurtin so bad..." into your question!

This. Studies showed a s/e of NSAIDS was that they almost acted as birth control. They messed w/ or delayed ovulation. I was taking them while training for a triathlon (I was temping but tta at the time) and my O was all over the place. I finally did some research. Even when I stopped taking them, my O was still wonky for a while.
