I asked her how she could handle trying again after her losses, and I have been thinking about her answer all day. She told me that she had love to give, and she loved being a parent. So she decided that she was ok being a parent to a living child or to an angel. There are differences to the parenting path, but she will never stop parenting her angel son. She started a NFP in honor of her son, and she sees the time she puts into that as part of raising her angel. Instead of running to sports practice, she manages the NFP, etc, etc.
For some reason, I take comfort in the idea that I can parent Carter, even though he is an angel. I will make him a scrapbook, just like Livie has. He will forever be included in our family activities. He is gone, but I will not let him be forgotten. I will make sure that good comes from his life. And I will make sure that I continue to learn and grow from his presence. I am not sure what path my parenting will take, but I will make sure there is a path.
