To preface, I'm going to do everything I can do have a non-medicated birth, pitocin/induction included.
There's a "natural mothering" store in town and after my appointment today I felt confident enough to stop by and check out some stuff. The lady who owns it was there and was very helpful in walking through the cloth diaper section with me. She also expressed some concern about the 'open-mindedness' of the practice where I am receiving care regarding induction, etc.
This is the second practice I've been with...the first one was terrible and I feel much better with this one. Did anyone hear things like this and have it be ok? I know they can't force stuff on me if I don't want it, but I'm worried about being scared into an induction or something.
Re: Help for a FTM?
This is a good post about what sort of questions to ask your provider to figure out how intervention-happy they are: https://birthsen.tmdhosting930.com/?p=769
You also might want to look and see if you can talk to the local ICAN (International Cesarean Awareness Network) group. They can hopefully give you some anecdotes about your current practice, and suggestions for other providers if you don't want to stay with them. Good luck, I hope it works out for you!
