Is This Negligence?

Yesterday on the noon news they reported a 9 month old had been kidnapped. My heart stopped and I started praying he'd be found safe and sound. He was found! And this is what happened; mom's boyfriend had the baby in the car, he stopped at a convenience store, left the baby in the car, car running and all, so someone jumped in and took the car. I'm sorry but who does that!? Policed believed the thief had no idea there was a baby in the car, sure enough just a couple hours later the car was found baby still in it. I was so glad the baby was unharmed, but shouldn't the mother's bf be charged with negligence or something like that?

Re: Is This Negligence?

  • Yes. In my unprofessional opinion. Absolutely.

  • Horrendous.  As a sidenote, I might mention that every time I lug my infant carrier into the convenience store to buy a lotto ticket, I'm convinced that I'll win this time just for the kharma of my trouble.  As you've probably guessed, I'm not Bumping from Maui, so nothing yet...

What is wrong with some people?  SERIOUSLY!

  • P.S. I think I meant "neglect" not "negligence" LMAO. Mommy brain moment.
  • I wish I was shocked to read this post but sadly I'm not. This exact same thing has happened at least 3 times in the past few years in Tucson. It upsets me that people can be so dumb. My husband's co-worker had an identical story except her boyfriend went into a bank to get cash for the drug dealer whom he left sitting in his car with his 5 year old son. Obviously the car was worth more than the money he would get from the deal so the drug dealer took off with the car. Thank god they found the boy safe, abandoned at the University.

Indifferent  Because drug dealers are known as the most trustworthy babysitters to be found.

    Just wow.
