IUI/Intercourse

Okay, so this is my first cycle with injectables and I will be having an IUI for the first time too. So far the injectables seem to be doing their job, I go back tomorrow morning for another monitoring appointment. I am just wondering if it is okay for me to be having intercourse even though I am going to be having an IUI when the time is right? I am new to this so any help would be much appreciated!

4 rounds of clomid - all no response
11/11 - Round 1 Follistim + Ovidrel trigger w/IUI - Mild OHSS + BFN
12/11 - Round 2 Follistim + Ovidrel trigger w/IUI - BFP!!!! Mild OHSS again
beta 16dpiui - 469, beta 20dpiui -2,050
2nd u/s- TWINS!
Carter & Sydney were born at 24 weeks and are currently in the NICU

    I have no experience, but look forward to seeing the answers. We are moving onto IUI next month.

    You are not supposed to have sex while stimming. I was told to have sex the night of trigger and then again after the IUI. GL!

    I was told to abstain from sex for 2-5 days before the IUI.

    IUI #1&2 = BFN; IUI #3 = BFP, m/c @ 6 weeks

    November '11 ~ IVF#1 ~ ER 11/18 (29R, 17F) ~ 5dt of one beautiful blast on 11/23 = BFP!!

    Beta #1 9dp5dt = 116, P4 = 28 ~ Beta #2 13dp5dt = 700 ~ Beta #3 20dp5dt = 9500, P4 = 26

    1st u/s 12/27 - hb of 156!! EDD 8.10.12 :)   **TEAM GREEN!**

    No sex for 48 hrs leading up to the IUI to improve counts, then have intercourse the night of and morning after the IUI.

    1500mg metformin
    SA 05/25/11 morphology @ 10%
    HSG 06/02/11, tubes were clear, uterine septum discovered
    06/30/11 Hysteroscopy, found a polyp blocking R fallopian tube
    07/20/11 Successful surgery to remove polyp and uterine septum!
    Sept/Oct cycle-Femara IUI turned into TI cycle= cancelled due to unresponsive follies
    09/28/11: dx w/ MTHFR (cc)
    10/22/11: IUI #1 w/ Femara + Menopur + trigger+ diluted hcg shots= BFN :-(
    03/25/12: IUI #2 w/ Femara + Menopur + trigger+progesterone= BFN
    Starting to pursue adoption

    We were told no sex 3 days prior to the IUI and then we were ok to do it anytime after the IUI.

    DX: PCOS/Recurrent losses/MTHFR mutation (compound hetero)
    5 hysteroscopies/2 surgical
    3 Inject IUIs = 2 m/c's and 1 BFN
    IVF #1= BFP. m/c at 7w6d. Needed 2 D&C's and scar tissue removal. Mild OHSS
    IVF #2 = BFP. Severe OHSS. 4 Drainings. TWINS!

    This! We usually try to have sex a few days leading up too...But I am told to have sex the day of IUI if you feel up to it. The more sperm the better :)

    We did not have any restrictions during the injections.  I think it all depends on your particular RE.  I could call and ask.  In my experience, we are told to BD a couple days prior to the IUI and the day of.

    I had a monitoring appt on CD 10. That afternoon they called me to let me know to trigger that night and the IUI was CD 12 and to abstain from sex until then!

    We're not doing injectibles, but we were told to abstain for 2 days prior to IUI to build up sperm counts, then knock it out daily afterwards.  Because it doesn't matter which method works, as long as one of them does!  GL.
    TTC with PCOS since November 2009
    IUI#1 Femara/Ovidrel (cd 3-7) = BFP, m/c
    IUI#2 Femara/Ovidrel (cd 5-9) = BFN
    IUI#3 Femara/Ovidrel (cd 3-7) = BFP!
    beta #1 11/23 = 270, P4 = 75
    beta #2 11/28 = 2055
    Our daughter E was born 7/29/2012!
    Surprise, our 2nd daughter P was born 5/22/14!
