Anyone use Sittercity to find occasional babysitter?

I've looked through posts on our neighborhood listserv for babysitter recommendations and every time someone posts there are no responses! I think everyone is hoarding their babysitters. LOL. Anyway, DH and I would like to go out at least a couple Friday nights a month so we're looking for a babysitter. Anyone used Sittercity for that and found some good folks? Other suggestions?

    I joined for the free trial and it looked like there were a few decent options of people who had reviews and who I would be willing to meet and at least see if they would work. However, when you get the free trial, you can't contact anyone unless you pay. I decided not to join at this time because I don't have a pressing need at the moment.

    One tip is that I think around day 5 of my trial, they sent me a 40% off code. So, if you do decide to join, make sure to wait for that code if you want to save some money.

    We have used the educated babysitter service in several occasions and have been very happy. Plus, we have another good babysitter that I would be happy to share with you. PM me if you want her details :-)

    My next door neighbor uses a lady who lives in the neighborhood to watch is two kids (2 and 4). I'll email you!

    We found our date night babysitter on there.  We used her occasionally for about 6 months.  Now that I'm pregnant, she comes once a week.  She's awesome.  We love her, DS loves her.  Can't say enough good things about her.

    I've used it several times with success.  I've always e-mailed potential sitters a few times and then had them come by our house so we could meet them and see them with DS.

    We found ours on there - we planned to use her several days/week for several hours at a time, but discovered our LO will not be with anyone else if we are home (we were trying to use this time for DH to get some school work done).  So, we now use her less - for when we can't be home -- overlapping work schedules, etc.  But we like her!
