I'm feeling social lately
I was wondering if anyone would ever consider changing their Dr this late in the game. I'm 32 weeks (tomorrow) and I'm really considering it. I haven't checked with my insurance co. yet to see if they'd have an issue with it so I don't even know if I can.
I've been going to Evergreen Women's Health Care in Nashua NH and I really kind of hate them. I pretty much wanted to switch right away but DH kept telling me I was overreacting so I stuck it out. Now I'm realizing that I'm actually hoping my Dr isn't available when I go into labor because I don't really know if I want her to be the one who does my delivery...I feel like that's a pretty big deal but I'm sort of thinking I waited too long and I should just suck it up for the next 8 weeks. If anyone wants to hear all the gory details I'd gladly share them so you have some context, but I kinda figure no one wants them.
Your thoughts?
Re: Changing Doctors So Late...
I don't know what the issues you're having are, but if it's possible to change providers then I would. You only get to have this baby once, and I think you should be able to feel confident and comfortable with the person who is going to be there for labor and delivery. If my providers weren't on board with the way I want to do things, I would definitely switch. I wouldn't worry about hurting anyone's feelings.
Thank you guys! I just called my insurance and they said they don't give a crap if I switch, then I called an office I've heard a lot of great things about and they're going to make sure they can take me and give me a call back. Even the girl on the phone seemed so much warmer than the people I've been dealing with!
The only reason I started going to Evergreen was because for the 1st 3 months I didn't have health insurance (I had JUST started a new job when I found out) and they offered a 40% discount if you were uninsured. Now that I have insurance (even though it's crappy) I can go to a REAL doctor!! Yey
Someone posted on the 3rd trimester board a few weeks ago that they changed Dr.s, and they were 37 weeks along! As long as the baby is in you, it's not too late to change to a different doctor.

Hi Tracilaroo,
Since we are in the same area (Escondido) do you have a doctor nearby? My husband and I just moved to Escondido and I am not sure my doctor will be able to come that far when it is time for birth. I am going to call and talk to her but I was hoping there was someone else in the area of Escondido that could give recommendations as well as the hospital you went too and any type of places you went for planning?
Thanks
