Hi,
We made a decision to have DS circumcised at birth, however not enough skin was removed and he will need to have it revised thru surgery. During his very first visit with his pedi she seemed to have a problem with the circ, and at 1 month referred us to the pedi urologist. We were told we would pretty much have to wait until he was 6 months but that he would definitely need to be revised.
I am still extremely upset by this and very nervous about the anesthesia, but per the urologist there is no other way for it to be corrected. And due to issues it is causing with his urine flow the sooner the procedure is done the better.
Does anyone have any experience with a revision? I would appreciate information on your experience.
Thanks
Re: Circumcision Revision- any exp?
We didn't do a revision, but did a full circ at 10 weeks. Dr. Mark Wulkan (pediatric surgeon at CHOA) did it.
Alec was not able to be circumsized at birth. The nurse said that we were lucky that we did not wait until 6 months because the healing process is tougher.
