Is he ever gonig to want to potty train?

I feel like Ethan has absolutely positively no interest in potty training.  We ask him if he wants to use the potty and he says no.  He doesn't have any desire.  Sophia is more interested than he is.  She will come and sit on the potty when I go into the bathroom.  I feel like it's never going to happen.

J was the same way- that's why I liked the 3 day PT. We just went cold turkey. He showed no interest in the potty but LOTS of interest in being a big boy, so I just played up the "diapers are only for babies" angle and it worked great.

Ian was the same way. I didn't push the issue until last spring when he was holding it for almost the whole day at daycare. Once the school year was done and I had some time off, it was nothing but underwear, a sticker chart, and "prizes" for him for a couple days. Once he bought into the stickers and prizes, everything else fell into place. Plus, he also had to think it was his idea to go on the potty. That's usually what makes him really commit to anything.

When I was training Reed and now Pierce I just tell them it's time to go potty.  I don't ask.  It worked great with Reed.  I was really consistent with him and he was trained by 21 months.  I hope to have Pierce done before he is 2 also.  If they were older, I would do the 3 day thing that a lot of people use.  It seems to work great too.

How old is he? We JUST started this past weekend. We tried 2mo ago and he screamed and cried no so we dropped it. We started sitting him on it to brush his teeth and make it part of the routine. He never peed on it though! I tried underwear and he peed in them too, so I went bare butt for 2 days and he's doing amazing!! Before this, if we asked he'd say no... Don't make it a question, just say its potty time! GL!
