1st Trimester

Introduction

Hello all- my FI and I just found out that I'm six weeks two days preg with our 1st, and we're both incredibly excited- especially since we weren't sure I'd be able to have kids at all (I have PCOS and was told by not one, not two, but four different doctors that my chances of concieving were slim to none). This baby is completely unexpected, but very welcome.

I've been experiencing a lot of morning sickness- nausea not bad enough to throw up just yet, but bad enough to make life thoroughly unpleasant. Anyone else experience that? I''ve got five or six other symptoms, and basically this kid is completely kicking my tail :). I never thought I'd be so happy to feel like crap.

I look forward to "getting to know" all of you!

Re: Introduction

  • I am morning sickness- no all day sickness queen. I vomit every morning and then feel queasy and exhausted all day. Breast tenderness... Crabby.... Could cry on command... And I am not a wimpy girl! I consider myself a very strong female and I hear ya- this baby is kicking my butt!

    7.5 weeks along here...

  • My fiance and I also just found out we are expecting our first child (big surprise too) and I am 5 weeks! I am getting the worst headaches brought on by weird smells and I am absolutely exhausted! Good luck to the both of you!!

  • I understand completely- no headaches yet (thank God) but unfortunately I live right next door to a fish market and I now have an extremely hyperactive sense of smell, which on the "not fun" scale is pretty darn high. I figured I might be pregnant when my students started asking me why I was sick all the time. Funny that it took a group of 12 year olds to notice- but honestly, yeah- I never thought I'd be able to do this. My boobs hurt so much I cry sometimes, and I feel like they've been inflated with a bicycle pump. I'm not exhausted all the time yet (is that normal, anyone?) but I had my first ultrasound today and the doc said that I and the baby look fine. I have a lot of back twinges too- not pain, really, but a few aches.

Honestly? I can't wait for the first trimester to be over- not only because it means the baby's a little less likely to miscarry, but also because I hear the second tri is not nearly as.... whacky.
