I am gradually switching my son back to regular formula after being on nutramigen. The doctor said to look for blood in stool, if press on tummy and fussy and really dark green poop. He hasn't had any of this yet, but he's been spitting up a lot more than he was. Do you think this is b/c of the formula and a milk protein allergy or just a new formula that is causing spit up. They didn't say anything about spitting up, but I have def. noticed that he spits up more. I am going to call tomorrow, but just wanted to find out what you all have encountered after switching. I am wondering if I should switch to the formula for spitting up, I think it's AR or something. thx for your input.
Re: switch from nutramigen to regular formula
My LO has acid reflux and takes Prevacid. At about 4 months, he was spitting up more than ever, so I told the pedi and he recommended I get Colic formula. Did that and no changes. He then recommended I add 1 tsp of rice cereal to each oz. of His bottle. Did that... Amazing results as far as spitting up! He may get constipated every blue moon, because of rice, but if I add a few drops of karo syrup, he's good by the next day or two. Of course, I'm not recommending you do this without consulting your pedi, but it DEFINITELY worked for my LO and it's a life saver! GL
Ops, I meant to add that when I switched formulas, there was no problem!
