False Negaitve while BFing?

Did anyone get a false negative on a HPT while breastfeeding? It may have nothing to do with it... DS will be 9 months old next week and AF is a week late tomorrow. I tested this morning and negative. The DR. told me to wait a week and test again or come in beginning of next week for blood test. I am a lot scared of having 2 so young! DS is a huge mommas boy!

    Lurking, but as far as I know breastfeeding has no effect on hcg which is what an hpt measures.

    No... Nursing has zero impact on HCG.

    Your period will likely be wacky while you are nursing.  What makes you think you are "late"?

    I figured one had nothing to do with the other... AF came back when DS was 9 weeks old and has been regular 28-29 days since then.

    It's not uncommon to have weird cycle lengths PP, regardless if you're BF or not.

    If you got a negative, you're likely not pregnant and just ovulated later than normal which is causing AF to come later than normal.
