Can I ask a potentially stupid question?

in TTC After a Loss

I see the "PAL/PGAL welcome" in a number of siggys here.  If I understand right, that means that those who are pregnant after a loss are welcome to reply.  However, I can't for the life of me figure out what the distinction between PGAL and PAL, is.  Does anybody know?
