Parenting after a Loss

I wish I was crafty

DD's class is having a Thanksgiving parade the kids need to make a float out of a box, or on a wagon. It should represent what Thanksgiving means to them, family traditions that kind of stuff. Her birthday is on Thanksgiving this year. It's always in the same week. The other moms are so crafty and I am not. I feel bad when they have to do this kind of stuff, because I suck at it.

Re: I wish I was crafty

  • I feel your pain. I wish I could sew. I wanted to use the fabric from the crib bumpers we never used to make a blanket and pillow for her. I have no idea how to even start.

  • Go to a craft store, get some fall flower & leaves, balloons (perhaps you could get some helum ballons to tie on) & streamers and a glue gun.

With the glue gun & supplies scatter flowers, leaves & streamers to your box and then attach (four perhaps) inflated balloons to the "float".

  • ooo... or perhaps just wrap the entire box like a present & put on some bows, then attach balloons.
