This weekend we had DD's 1st birthday party at a park. My parents, IL's and my sis and her husband came in town, and we had a bunch of friends and kids at Patterson Park in Austin. It started out seeming like it wasn't going to go well (it was cold, wind was blowing hard, cranky birthday girl), but eventually got better.
Long story short, I'd been having some allergy funk for about a week. It got worse over the weekend, and I didn't really pay attention to it, given all the family in town and impending birthday party. So on Sunday, I was ok for most of the day, and then about 3 pm I started feeling horribly achy, and alternating hot and cold. I took my sis and her husband to the airport, came home, and DH took my temp. It was 101. I was miserable for a few hours, and then it seemed to break.
So I didn't go to work today, and I went to the doctor. I don't have fever anymore, but the doc told me that I probably had a viral infection that started earlier in the week, before the birthday party. And I was somewhat hot the whole weekend, which is not like me, but I just chalked it up to allergies.
So given all that, I'm thinking that I should tell people that were at the party about it, in case they get it or their kid gets it. But then again, does it really matter for them to know they got it from me, if they end up getting it?
What would you do? I don't want to freak people out, but I thought they might want to know. I can't decide if it would really matter to me either way if I went to someone else's party and they ended up being sick.
Thanks,
Amy
Re: Advice needed again
Tell 'em. It helps to know where a virus came from, how long it take to run its course, what the symptoms/effects are, etc.
That's a good point, thanks. I didn't think of that.
Agreed. I think people would rather know what may be ahead of them than be completely surprised by it. And if you're worried about people being upset that you potentially exposed them to a virus, I wouldn't be. Stuff like this happens and you didn't do it on purpose.
My doctor checked me and said it wasn't a sinus infection. That type of thing doesn't just go away either (for me, anyway). I have to get a Z-pac to clear it out.
