i work downtown and had gotten on waiting lists for a few in the area back in april (i go back to work in january). i was told i had a decent shot at getting in one of the infant rooms at a place where a co-worker also sends her kid, but to call back this month to check on where i am on the waiting list.
turns out, they had more siblings added to infant rooms than they anticipated - guess everyone got KU'ed this year. so no more space unless a family pulls out.
it's so annoying that you have to be on these waiting lists months and months before you even have the baby, and there's still no guarantee of a spot. i'm hoping there's a spot at my SIL's kid's school. it's certainly not near work like i hoped, but may be a good thing if DH or i are running late/stuck in traffic to have SIL pick up both kids at the same time.
Re: Finding a daycare... vent
where are you sending your kid in the meantime, and would it be worth switching if either of the downtown places had a spot open up? i'm now looking closer to home rather than work.
