I'm asking for my DD who is actually 4 years old.
Last night, during her bath, she kept getting out saying she had to pee, go sit on the potty, but wouldn't really go. She also would kind of hit herself in that area because it was bothering her. Like she was trying to push the pain away.
However, she also had a bit of diarrhea yesterday. So, I'm not sure if that's what she was really complaining about.
She's home with DH right now and he said she's not really eating and hasn't gone pee or poop all morning. She's acting normally and has energy.
I asked him to give her something to drink and see how she reacts.
Should I take her to he pedi just to get her checked out? She seems fine now and isn't complaining, but I'm still worried.
Re: How do you know if you LO has a UTI?
My LO just got over a UTI, but she is 11 months old. She had a high fever of around 103 that would come and go. She had no cold symptoms so I knew something was going on. She didn't cry at all when she would pee, but I did notice she kept grabbing her diaper in that area. Is her urine cloudy in the toliet? That and pain was always a sign that I was coming down with one.
If you are unsure, just call the pedi. They will do a qucik urine test for you.
Can't hurt to take her to the pedi. They can test her urine.
In the meantime, I'd push liquids.

This. If she does have one, you don't want it to get worse. I hope it's nothing.
Thanks everyone. I did end up taking her in. So far no UTI. They did a quick test in the doctor's office and then sent a sample to the lab. I didn't hear back so no news is good news.
She is fine.
I'm glad I took her though. At least now I know for sure.
Thanks for the great advise.
