How did everyone survive DST ending?

It's dead on here today! Is everyone still adjusting to the time change?? DD picked yesterday morning to "sleep in" which was completely awesome since I was afraid  she was going to wake up at 4 or 5. She slept until 7am. Yay! Last night was not so easy since I tried to keep her up a little later, but she was overtired and woke up a few times, thankfully before DH and I went to bed. I just spoke to our DCP and she said the kids were all whining/crying for lunch at 10:30 so I guess everyone is feeling it today.

  • So far, so good on this end (knocking on wood).  DS is a big sleeper though and isn't usually affected by time changes/travel/etc.  I know this will come back to bite me when I am trying to pull my sleep-loving teenager out of bed for school each day... ;)  DH and I, on the other hand, have been sleeping restlessly and waking up at odd times wondering if the alarm is about to go off...

  • He was his normal wakeful self! Just a bit earlier than usual. He seems to be ok today, though.

  • Everyone woke up early on Sunday and went to bed early as well.  This morning, we all were on our usual wake-up timing.  Assuming tonight goes smoothly, I will say we weathered it well.
  • We did great. DS woke up at 3:30am (new time) on Sunday morning wanting to play, which he never does, so after a few failed attempts to get him to stay quiet in his crib, DH took him downstairs. I got up at 5:30am to do some stuff, and at 6am, DS started to get tired again.

We put him back down to sleep, and both he and DD slept until we woke them at 7:20am (so 8:20am old time). This was a miracle. The rest of yesterday, they were on their normal schedule and took their normal two naps. DS was up at 5am today, but we're hoping that was just a fluke.

  • Grrrr smash. Is how I'm feeling.

J woke up at about 5:30 yesterday (but really 6:30 regular time, which is normal). By the time we put him down for his nap (11:30, which was really 12:30, which was late for him . . .) he was pretty tired and slept for 2.5 hours. So we thought we'd be golden to put him down at his regular time, 6:30 which is really 7:30, but he was totally melting down and fell asleep around 7:00. And then woke up at 5:15 this morning. Or maybe earlier! I just didn't hear him until then.

I predict epic meltdowns tonight. And I couldn't fall back asleep either, so I was tired and migraine-y this morning.

  • We did fine. M usually wakes up between 5-6 am, so I was anticipating a crazy 4 am wakeup on Sunday morning, but he actually slept until 6 am. I was pleasantly surprised.

  • So far, so good - she hasn't blinked (still waiting for the other shoe to drop though ;-). We kept her up a bit 'later' for her so she dropped off to sleep immediately last night. This morning, she was up at 6:30am current time, which is the time that she usually got up before DST ended.

  • ask me later this week LOL

  • Ehh. Yesterday morning, DS was up at 5am on the dot (6 old time).  That's definitely pretty early for him.  Today he slept until 6:30 after waking up yelling at 4:23.  He never gets up at night really so I went in to soothe him and I thought for sure he'd wake up at 5 or  5:30 etc. so I never was able to fall back to sleep.  So I've been up for 11 hours already!  He took a great 3 hour nap yesterday afternoon (I put him down early as he was more than ready, and he was able to stay up just fine until around 8pm (his normal bedtime) but I don't think he fell asleep until closer to 8:30 or so (again, normal for him).  So we'll shoot for 8 tonight and he hope he sleeps until 7 tomorrow!

  • Up at 5AM Sunday morning.

Woke up around 5:15 this morning, but I didn't get him out of bed until 5:45.

I'm hoping he goes back to sleeping to his usual time of 6:20-45. I like some time in the morning to eat my breakfast and read the newspaper.

  • T had a really crappy Friday night (gas pains and a cold that kept her up off and on until 9:30), so it really helped her sleep in a little and stay up later on Saturday to make the change more incremental.  DH and I were OOT Sat../Sun., but my FIL said T did great and got up within 15 minutes of her usual time Sun. morning.  She seemed to do fine getting up this morning and going to bed tonight, so I think we lucked out.  (She's done really well with all of the time changes so far.)

  • I thought we were doing well until DD woke up at 4:45 this morning.

Saturday we decided to just exhaust her with gymnastics class, running around the park, errands, back to the park so she slept in until 7:45. Then yesterday she slept until 7am. This morning, not so much.
