Two Under 2

? for City Select owners

My husband and I are expecting our 2nd child this Spring and from some of the research I've started on strollers the City Select is highly recommended. I just wanted to check in to see if it's really worth the money??? DD#1 will be 2 1/2 when this LO is born so we need something that is versatile. Any other recommendations are appreciated. TIA!

  • There are several posts about this exact stroller on the front page.   Sort by most recent post and you should be able to find them.

  • I don't own it yet, but I am really on the fence about buying it.  I love the versatility, but I'm afraid my 1st child will outgrow it quickly, plus my friend has it and it's difficult to push on even surfaces.  It's great for the mall, target, etc but we go to the zoo & park often and the pathways are hilly and uneven and it's like pushing a schoolbus.  I think it will be great as long as the 2nd baby is an infant, but I don't see it working when you have two toddlers.  I've read a lot of reviews and most people love it, but I am just not sold on it yet.  We are really considering the Bumbleride Indie twin- we own the single and love it, and even though it's not a good mall stroller, it works well for most other situations.

  • I have had mine for a year and I love it.  I use it almost everyday.  I do not think it is a perfect stroller, but I don't have any major complaints.  I will say that DS is in the 50%tile for height and he looks huge in it. I know people say their 5 year olds jump into ride, and maybe he would, but he is TALL for it.  It works well as a single, but is much bulkier than I would want if I were really planning to use it long-term like that.

I had a Chicco Together and used it 5 times.  All 3 of us hated it.  The BJCS is so much more compact.

  • I love mine and the versatility and huge storage are great. Don't understand why someone has trouble with it on flat surface, you are not hoping tall curbs and definitely use the flat entrances from parking areas to sidewalks, but you have 30 plus lbs of kids. My ds1 is 29 lbs and ds2 is 18 lbs and  i haven't had any problems with it in general. I can tell you you'll probable find some great deals on it at amazon after thanksgivign and before xmas, got mine last year at that time on sale.

  • We have it and like it.  I looove that it can be a single or double - makes it really versatile.  We've only used it a couple of times as a double, but so far, so good. I think it's a great stroller and definitely worth the money.  I do think that we will eventually end up with a second double - probably a side by side - just as we had more than one single stroller for DD (MacLaren for malls, etc, Bumbleride for long walks).  I doubt you'll ever find one stroller that will fit your exact needs all the time, but the BJCS is pretty close.

  • it absolutely is! we got it last year when we had DS planning for #3 to come soon after (and we are due 4/30/12).  I have used it as a double already w/friends children and LOVE everything about it.

  • I love mine for my twins. However, they are now 18 months old and almost too long for the stroller seats. Even with the footrests fully extended their legs are too long to fit in without scrunching up their knees (they are 70th percentile for height). I would think a 2.5 year old would be way too tall to fit comfortably.

Also, I think the stroller looks kind of weird when it has one car seat and one regular seat on it. The City Mini Double might be a better choice?
