When did your LO start saying words? Mine only says "ga" and maybe a few other sounds but no words. My baby center email just told me he shoudl be saying ball and dog. Is this BS at 14 months?

Re: Talking
My DD hardly says anything. She says "uck" for everything like the dogs, cat, books, food, and says "mama" for me, milk, and when she is upset. She says "dada" when she sees DH and when she is playing around with her toys.
So clearly my DD has not mastered anything close to speaking yet, as I still think she is confused on most items. However if I ask her to get something, or bring me something she will usually do it.
I don't consider DD to be talking yet. She babbles a lot. Dada, ta-thu which I think is thank you and signs for milk. She does understand if I tell her to bring me the ball though.
I think there is a range of 'normal' here- DD is talking- not sentences though! More like dadda, ballee (ball), birdie, kitty, mommy, babba and lot's of oooos and ahhhs.
