New and Clueless

Hi! My DH and I have been trying for about 4 years and we're diagonsed as unexplained.  I've gone through 7 IUIs and 1.5 IVFs, with our last IVF ending in a miscarriage at 6 weeks. 

We talked over the weekend and we want to start looking into adoption.  I'm really hoping this board can help answer questions and offer some insight along the way. 

Where do I even start?

I'm new,too I can share what has been helpful for me.....

 I would suggest reading through a few pages of posts and seeing if anything catches your eye.  Also, I read: "You can Adopt" and "Adoption for Dummies". There is enough info. to get you started. I got info. about what the different types of adoption are and what questions to ask agencies or lawyers,etc. Look for local events in your area,too. We are going to an adoption fair tonight sponsored by The Adoptive Families support agency.

Hi and welcome.

There's an FAQ at the top of the board with a lot of good resources. The first thing you'll want to do is decide what type of adoption (foster/adopt, domestic, international) you want to pursue, and go from there.

For any specific questions, this is a great board with a lot of advice when you're ready. GL!

Welcome.  I am an adoptive mom and would recommend you sit down with your hubby and discuss what type of adoption you would like, (fost/adopt, CPS, domestic infant or international)  Once you have decided, you can contact an agency and they will have you attend an orientation meeting. This is where you can ask any questions you may have and they can get you started from there.  Good luck to you.
