I am going crazy looking for a stroller. I have a 14 month old and we are expecting our second anyday now. I have been looking for a double stroller since I found out I was pregnant (the first night I knew I was searching for strollers!) I was pretty set on the Kolcraft Contour Optima untill I saw the City Select, which really is out of our price range but I love that its shorter and can be used a single as well. Wasnt sure if anyone has either of these or anyother stroller that they love. I am really looking for a tandem because I am concered about it being to wide with shopping (I have a feeling many of my outting this winter will be to the mall just to get out of the house!)
Any suggestions?
Re: Stroller Stress
I've got the city select and LOVE it and it is pricy, it does go on a bit of a sale on Amazon after thanksgiving/early december. I got mine at that time last year and i just keep looking and looking and then saw it on sale. Assuming it goes on sale every year taht time due to the model year thing. Only downside thing is the cup holder thing for adults. Technically to start with you would need the stroller and the infant car seat adapter and then you could get the second seat down the line.
sorry i think i am rambling.... Good LUCK!!
I have a side by side stroller (combi twin sport) and never had issues walking around the mall or anywhere else. I even fit it through the doorway @ my pedi's office, which is pretty small. I dont think you need a tandem to walk the mall, so I wouldtn make my stroller decision based on that.
If you like the city select, why not check on craigslist for it if it's out of your price range new?
My older daughter is only 14 months, I dont think she would sit still in the sit in stand even if we waited a few months to put her in the "stand"section, she is very high energy and I would prob spend most of my time chasing her.
I dont want a side by side that I cant put the car seat in.
I might be wrong, but can't just about all double strollers take an infant seat, at least in one of the seats?
I have the city select and love it b/c it's a single or double. My oldest goest o school 3 days a week and I only have one kid with it. It's nice to have a single for those days. The down side is the cup holder issue and my oldest is a tall/big boy. He barely fits in the sit anymore and I can't love the canopy with his seat anymore. He can hardly it to the doctor's office but we can't use it for a long outing anymore.
Mine are 14months and 9 days apart and I have the Kolcraft Contours. I love it!! I have the world's smallest car with kids (Ford Focus) and it fits in my trunk as long as I take the seats off. I use it everywhere. I also wanted (drooled) over the city select but since I'm a single mom that was waaaaaay out of my price range. I ended up finding the Kolcraft on Craigslist for 40 bucks (a steal). It is a little heavy but we're carrying kids while pregnant so the stroller is nothing.
Good Luck and welcome to the club!!
