If you have pets - rec. your enzyme cleaner

Our cat peed on every chair in the basement while we were gone during a power outage. I guess it was in rebellion.

Most of our stuff has removable cushions. The parts that aren't removable need help...asap. I don't want him going back for more so the scent has to be gone.

Is there an enzyme cleaner that you've been successful with? Or any other product other then ammonia. (I can't stomach the smell of it) TIA

  • Nature's Miracle spray and baking soda works wonders!!  All the petsmart/petco's have it.

ETA: I used it on carpets and furniture when my puppy was new but I'm sure it works for cats too. Use it generously and it works very well.

  • I never found anything that worked for cat urine. I ended up having to replace a love seat and sofa. PP said nature's miracle....works for dog urine, but doesn't work for cats IMO. Sorry. :(

  • Anti Icky Poo works great. My cat was pissed when DS started crawling and coming after him so he would pee by his toys.  We brought him to the vet to make sure he didn't have a UTI then the vet said that product is what they found to work the best.  You can buy it at vet offices but I recommend getting it off Amazon because it is way cheaper on there.  Also, ammonia would be the worst thing to use because cat urine has a natural ammonia smell and they mistake the ammonia spots with their urine and will go there more.

  • Thanks for the advice. I mopped my floors with a steam mop and added a couple drops of eucalyptus onto the cloth. The floors smell great.

The side of the loveseat still stink. I don't think I will ever sit there again, even if I get the smell out. I really wish H would let me get rid of the cat along with the furniture. At least let me make him an outdoor cat.

Someone else told me about nature's miracle so I'll try that 1st. If that doesn't work we'll order some anti icky poo. Someone also recommended the feliway diffuser near his litter box.

This cat is going to become very expensive :(
